Death Notice:

Obituary Date: 1893-03-18

Information: King - Mrs. Ruth King was born in Green county, Pennsylvania, March 22, 1833, and died at her home in Jackson county, West Virginia, January 30, 1893.  She was married to Francis King, August 12, 1852, and was the mother of nine children; eight of whom are living.  She moved with her parents to Wood county, West Virginia, when she was eight years of age and remained there until December, 1851, when she came to Jackson county, which became her place of residence the remainder of her life.  In early life she joined the Baptist Church, but after her marriage with Mr. King, she united with the Southern Methodist Church, and lived a consistent life.  A few days before her death, she asked her children to sing the song: ""Let me go where saints are going"", which they did.  She said ""That is so nice.  I am glad to hear my children sing once more together.""  She was a loving mother, an obedient wife, and kind neighbor.  The husband said ""She has been a good wife to me"", the children say ""We expect to meet her."" Her house was the preacher's home, and the weary itinerant was always welcome.  May heaven's blessings rest on husband, children and friends and that they have a happy meeting on the other shore.  J. W. Simpson.
