Information: Floyd Daniel King, 75, of Ripley, departed this life Jan. 13, 1999 at his home following an extended illness. He was born July 9, 1923 at Evans, a son of the late John Jay and Ora Ethel (Williams) King. He was a World War II Army veteran, a retired maintenance carpenter from Union Carbide with 39 years' service, a member of IAM Union Local #565. He was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Eileen (Balser) King; daughters, Connie (Robert) Randolph, Vanessa (Robert) Ball of Ripley, and Gail (David) Hunter of Given; sisters, Mary Winters of Ripley, Mildred Snyder of Pompano Beach, FL and Evelyn King of Evans; grandchildren, Rhonda Randolph Burgess, Brian Randolph, Cary Randolph, Vania Ball Falen, Rana Ball, Justin Ball, Chandra Hunter and Gerad Hunter; great-grandchildren, Megan Randolph, Brady Randolph, Madaline Randolph and Elijah Randolph. He was preceded in death by brothers, Hobert, Vernon, Hoyt, Wilmer, Willy, Elmer and Cletes King; sisters, Minnie Pullins and Ruth Sayre. Services were Saturday at the Ripley Baptist Temple with the Rev. Clarence Morton officiating. Burial in the Longview Cemetery, Evans. Casto Funeral Home, Evans in charge of arrangements.
