Information: Clarence King, 77 of Nitro died Wednesday in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.  The brother of Minerva Linville of Ravenswood, he was a native of Jackson County and was a retired operator for American Viscose Plant with 44 years of service.  He was a member of East Nitro Baptist MIssion.  Surviving:  wife, Druzella Smith King; daughers, Mrs. Reba Louise Kessell of Hurricane, Mrs. Lena Jewell Sovine of Jensen Beach, Fla., Mrs. Virginia Mae Westfall and Mrs. Patricia Carol Sisk, both of Poca, Mrs. Ruth Mathilda Gossett of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Sue Dickerson of Nitro, Mrs. Janet Ann Rucker of Winfield; sons, Clarence Lee of Red House, Paul Ray of Barberton, Ohio, Charles David of Kennesaw, Ga., William Randolph of Buffalo; sisters, Rosalie Burgess of Nitro, Mrs. Genevieve Facemyer of New Martinsville; 30 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.  Service was Saturday in Gatens Funeral Home, Poca with the Rev. Ray Humphrey and the Rev. James Thomas officiating.  Burial was in Creston Cemetery.
