Information: David Reed Kester died at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 5 days at his home near Belleville, June 18, 1942. He had been a citizen of Jackson County over 60 years and served as County Commissioner six years. He united in marriage in 1873 to Jabitha (Tabitha?) Williamson, of this union were born six children - two sons and four daughters. His wife and eldest daughter, Grace preceded him in death. Surviving are five children: G.W.Kester, Parkersburg, Wv., D.P.Kester, Belleville, WV., Mrs. Bertha Lemley, Belleville, WV., Mrs. Loy Allen, Belleville, WV, and Mrs. Nora Frampton, of Washington, D.C.; two half -brothers, H.K.Kester, of Gallipolis, Ohio, and R.L. Kester, of Murraysville, WV. Also 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kester had not been in good health for some time but was only sick a short time before he died. For the past 19 years he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Loy Allen, and died there. (Obituary provided through Betty Kessel McIntyre and Clement Matheny collection)
