Information: William Kelvy Kessel, 85, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Kentuck, died Thursday, April 13, 1989, at home after a long illness. He was born in Putnam County, a son of the late Kenna Kelvy and Ruby Wavie Rowley Kessel. He was a retired tool polisher from True Temper Corp., Charleston and a farmer. He was a Baptist. Surviving; wife, Ola V. Kiser Kessel; son, Louis A. of Salem, Va.; daughter, Betty McIntyre of Roanoke, Va.; half-brothers, Carl of Kenna, Virgil of Charleston, Aubrey of Sissonville; half-sister, Vivian Skeen of Kentuck; seven grandchildren, Linda J. Harris and Gregory Kessel of Richmond, Va., Mona Carver of Charlotte, N. C., Lois Jena Hatchimonji of Arcata, Calif., Jubal McIntyre of Roanoke, Jeanette L. McIntyre, Buchanan, Va., Teresa D. McIntyre of Roanoke; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister, a half-brother and a half-sister, and one grandson. Service was Sunday in Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Orville Walker officiating. Burial was in Kiser Cemetery, Kentuck.
