Information: Funeral rites for Mrs. Rachel Kessel, aged 68, and the wife of H. E. Kessel of Parkersburg, were held from the Methodist Church in Cottageville, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. H. K. Riffe in charge. Mrs. Kessel died at her home in Parkersburg last Friday afternoon. She had been ill for some time, the cause of the illness being ? and other complications. Her husband has been a hospital patient in that ciry for several weeks as the result of a broken leg received some time ago when he was struck by an automobile. The Kessel family lived at Cottageville for many years. A few months ago they moved to Parkersburg where they have since made their home. Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Fred Barnhardt, Mrs. William Taylor and Mrs. J. B. Samuels, all of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Ethel Kern and Mrs. Lenore Anderson, both of Cincinnati; three sons, Herman W. Kessel of this city, O. B. Kessel of Wellsville, Ohio and R. L. Kessel of Cleveland; several brothers and sisters, nine grandchildren.
