Information: Okey O. Kessel, 77, of 909 Washington Ave., Nitro, died Sunday in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness (heart attack).  He attended the Freedom Bible Church at Scott Depot.  He was a retired pipefitter for Union Carbide, Institute plant, with 31 years of service and was a member of the International Assoc. of Machinists.  He was a native of Jim Ridge, Jackson County.  Surviving:  wife, Bessie Kessel; daughter, Mrs. Joyce Sue Eggleton of Scott Depot; sons, Guy Madison Kessel of Olathe, Kan., James Wayne Kessel of Ravenswood; brothers, W. O. Kessel of Bradford, Pa.; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Cavender and Mrs. Macel Hull, both of Charleston, Mrs. Orpha Brisendine of Clendenin; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.  Services will be at 1 pm Thursday at Cooke-Pauley Funeral Home, Nitro, with the Rev. Dorris E. Walls officiating.  Burial will be in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
