  <p>Information: Harry R. Kessel, 47, of Athens, an auditor for the State of Ohio and an official in the National Football League, died Monday at his home after a short illness.  The Parkersburg, W. Va. native was a member of the National Association Football League Conference, Ohio Association of Football and Basketball Officials, the Ohio High School Athletic Assn., and the American Legion.  Kessel formerly officiated in this area and participated in many games in which Ripley and Ravenswood teams were involved.  He was a graduate of Ohio University with both bachelor&#39;s and master&#39;s degrees and played on the Ohio U baseball team.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a son of Herman Kessel of Parkersburg and the late Helen Stricken Kessel.  He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School.  Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife, George Allison Kessel and a son, Brent, at home.  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jagers Funeral Home in Athens and burial will be in Memory Gardens in Athens.</p>
