Information: BRYAN KESSEL - Draper Jennings Bryan Kessel, son of Huston E. and Rachel Kessel, was born in Ripley district, this county, January 18, 1898, died at Chester, West Virginia, May 25. 1917, age 19 years 4 months and 7 days, leaving his father and mother and eight brothers and sisters to mourn his untimely end. The brothers and sisters surviving are O. B., Roscoe, Herman, Mrs. Ethel Kerns, Lenore, Luda, Gladys and Dora. His death was unexpected and a great shock to his friends. A few days before his death he wrote his mother that he was not feeling well but hoped that he would be all right in a few days, doubtless realizing at that time that he would have to undergo a serious operation but not wanting to inform her of his true condition so as to spare her from any worry, or anxiety about him. When the telegram said ""Bryan Kessel is dead"", it fell like a thunderbolt on the ears of his parents and seemed to almost crush them. He had been absent from home, employed in the shops at East Liverpool, Ohio the past 18 months and as the writer is informed was unusually proficient in his work, receiving numerous promotions for his efficiency and industry in the work assigned him.----------
