Information: Philip Bayer was born in Germany, October 16, 1845 and emigrated to this country with his parents in the year 1846. He departed this life September 25, 1921, aged 75 years, 11 months and 9 days. He became a member of the Lutheran Church April 22, 1859 to which faith he held until he was called home to God. He was united in marriage to Caroline Seyler, June 27, 1869, who preceded him to the great beyond April 24, 1920. He is survived by the following children; Mrs. D. W. Dawkins, Parkersburg; J. W. Bayer, Akron, Ohio; A. P. and A. F. Bayer, East Liverpool, Ohio; Mrs. L. Z. Archer, Cambridge, Ohio; Mrs. J. W. Morgan, Sandyville, W. Va; D. E., C. T. and M. L. Bayer and Mrs. D. B. Ludwig of Ripley, W. Va., and one brother, William Bayer of Marietta, Ohio. The funeral services were conducted at Mt. Calvary Church by Rev. T. H. Rymer assisted by Rev. L. E. Powers and the remains interred in the cemetery nearby.
