Information: Clyde A. Kerns, 83, of Kenna, passed away December 12, 2011 at Eldercare of Ripley following a long illness.  He was born September 12, 1928 in Kentuck, a son of the late Kenneth and Cordelia Southall Kerns. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.  He attended Goshen Baptist Church.  He was retired from Vesellio and Grogan Construction, where he was a heavy equipment operator.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn Campbell Kerns; his son, Keith Kerns, and his wife, Amy, of Cottageville; his daughter, Karen Kelly, and her husband, Danny, of Sissonville; brothers, Emzy Kerns and Dale Kerns; sisers, Sherry Sheppard and Nellie Ingram; and his grandchildren, Stacy Kelly, Rachel Kerns and Rebecca Kerns.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel Ryan Kelly; and brothers, Hansford, Richard, Otho and Denver Kerns.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Carl Casto officiating.  Burial with military rites provided by American Legion Post 107, Ripley, will be in Kerns Cemetery, Kentuck.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
