Information: Claude Eugene Kent, 83, of Sandyville, died September 18, 2001, at home following a short illness. He was born March 31, 1918, in Sandyville, son of the late Charles Ross and Ada Hardesty Kent. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sargent with 26 years service and proprietor of the Sunoco Service Station of Mineral Wells for 10 years. He was a graduate of Gilmore High School with the class of 1936, was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, and a Mason. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie Martin Kent; son, C.R. Kent of Sandyville; daughters, Frances Johnson of Parkersburg and Kay Parsons of Sandyville; his brother, Allan Kent of Ripley; two sisters, Pauline Smith and Ann Curry of Sandyville; five grandsons, five granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Kent Harrison; grandson, Daniel Harrison; three brothers; Harry, Gordon, and Delmar; one sister, Doris Kent Fletcher. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Vail Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating. Burial will be in the Kent Family Cemetery with military rites of Odaville. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Vail Funeral Home of Ripley.
