  <p>Information: Irene Thomas Kelly, 98, of Ripley, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness.  She was born September 14, 1914 at Belgrove, WV, daughter of the late E. D. and Pearl Hatcher Thomas.  She was a lifelong homemaker and a longtime member of the Aplin Church.  Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Kelly, and although the couple had no children of their own, she was a true mother to a multitude of children throughout the years.  In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was preceded in death by brothers, Ivan Thomas, Samuel Thomas and George Thomas and sister, Idress Westfall.  Surviving:  brother, John E. Thomas; sister, Beatrice Jones; nieces, Barbara Casto, Karen Moss, Loretta Mollohan and Cleta Walker.  A celebration of Irene&#39;s life is set for today, Tuesday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home with Larry Jones officiating.  Interment will follow the service at the Thomas Cemetery on Aplin Ridge.  Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.</p>
