  <p>Information: David Edward Bayer, 85-year old retired merchant who formerly operated a store in West Ripley died Saturday night after being seriously ill for some time. He was born March 26, 1876, the son of Philip and Caroline Seylor Bayer. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Vaughn Funeral Home in Parkersburg and the body was brought to Pine Hill Cemetery in Ripley for burial. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Grant Bayer; a son, the Rev. Edward Bayer, Amherstdale, W. Va.; a daughter, Miss Mary Bayer, Vienna; two brothers, Luther Bayer, Ripley and August Bayer, East Liverpool; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dawkins, Parkersburg, Mrs. Anna Archer, Cambridge, Ohio, Mrs. Clara Morgan, Sandyville and Mrs. Flora Ludwig, East Liverpool. A daughter and three brothers preceded him in death.</p>
