Information: DICK KEENAN, 64, TAKEN SUDDENLY - George Herbert ""Dick"" Keenan, 64-year old advertising director of the Parkersburg News and Sentinel, and a Jackson county native, died unexpectedly at his home in Vienna Wednesday evening of a heart attack. He had been ill for the past three weeks, having been a patient in Camden-Clark Memorial hospital while afflicted with pneumonia. He had returned to his residence on Tuesday afternoon and was still a bed patient while recuperating. A neighbor, Dr. Rogers, was called when Mrs. Keenan observed his condition, but he was dead when the doctor arrived it was reported. He was born in Ravenswood Feb. 15, 1900, the son of George Thomas and Almira Burton Keenan. The family later moved to Parkersburg, and he was graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1918. A veteran of World War I, Keenan went to work in advertising with the Sentinel Co. immediately after release from service in 1919, and remained in that connection until his death. He was chairman of the board of the Parkersburg Savings & Loan Co. He was a member of the Memorial Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, and of Parkersburg Lodge No. 198, B.P.O. Elks. He is survived by his widow, Mary V. Farnsworth Keenan, two brothers, Raymond C. Keenan of Parkersburg and Clair Keenan of Vienna, and several nieces and nephews.
