Information: RADIO PERSONALITY DIES SUDDENLY - Mike Kapral, 45, of 102 Lee Street, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1989, at his home. He was employed by Appalachian Power Company at the Mountaineer Power Plant at New Haven. He was a widely-known radio celebrity, having been associated with radio stations at Charleston, Clarksburg and Ripley. His radio name was Mike Hammer. In 1978, he was the master of ceremonies for Ripley's Fourth of July day-long program. Kapral was a Mason. Surviving: wife, Sandra K. Kapral; son, Michael John of Ripley; half-brothers, John and Bobby Kapral, both of Bellaire, Ohio; half sister, Clara Kapral of Bellaire, Ohio; mother Margaret Kapral of Ripley. Service was Friday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Eddie Henson officiating. Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.
