Information: J. Gory Kapp, 77, of Point Pleasant, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1993, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was a retired truck driver for Smith Transfer and Point Express. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, a member of the Minturn Lodge No. 19 A. F. & A. M. the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 731, the Teamsters Union, associate member of the American Legion Mason County Post No. 23, and a former chairman of the Mason County Democratic Party. Born April 13, 1916, in Evans, he was a son of the late John Andrew and Jennie (Hartley) Kapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Moore) Kapp and a son, John G. Kapp, Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia May Kapp of Point Pleasant; four sons, Dawson E. Kapp of Plain City, OH, Gary Scott Kapp of Akron, OH, Ronald R. Kapp of Point Pleasant and Donald J. Kapp of Gallipolis Ferry; a daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Kapp of Grand Junction, CO; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Gary O. Kapp of Columbus; a sister, Sybil Rich of Ripley; and a special friend Elizabeth Hall of Centerville, OH. Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Crow-Hussel Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Steven Dorsey and Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial was in the Creston Cemetery in Leon, where Masonic graveside services were conducted by the Minturn Lodge No. 19, A. F. & A. M.
