Information: Joseph F. Jones, 78, of Route 3, Princeton, WV, died Wednesday, April 26, 1989, in Princeton Hospital following a short illness.  He was born in Roane County, a son of the late Lewis and Viola Jones.  He had lived in Ravenswood most of his life and was a Baptist.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Porter Jones; one son, Joseph Wayne Jones at home; three daughters, Charlotte Thomas of Shingle Springs, Calif., Lois Sutphin of Sherman and Jackie John of Orient, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Peggy Nelson and Kathy Brown, both of Princeton, and Margaret Tate of Pensacola, Fla.; one stepson, Capt. Jerry Lawson of Fort Lewis, Wash.; four sisters, Delta Hafer of Ravenswood, Alice Trowbridge of Tavares, Fla., Mabel Hall of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Pearl Mason of South Dennis, N. J.; one brother, Orland Jones of Sherman; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two daughters, Alice and Connie Jones.  Services were Sunday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Donald Pringle officiating.  Burial was in Ravenswood Cemetery.
