  <p>Information: LENGTHY ILLNESS FATAL TO RETIRED RHS TEACHER - Mrs. Ida Kathryn Johnston, 59, of Ripley, died Friday in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness.  Mrs. Johnston was a retired schoolteacher with 35 years service.  A graduate of Marshall University, she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teacher&#39;s society, the DAR, and the West Virginia Education Association.  Surviving:  son, John H. Johnston of Charleston; sister, Mrs. Jean Kittle of Coshocton, Ohio.  Her husband, Clarence (Johnny) Johnston, preceded her in death in September 1976.  Service was held Monday in Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. William Eaton and the Rev. Ronald Brooks officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
