Information: Earnest ""Lew"" Johnson, 82, of Ripley, died Sept. 14, 2010, in Eldercare of Ripley.  Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Pocatalico, he was a son of the late Everett M. and Zella M. Boggess Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, in 1996; daughter, Sherri; three brothers, Willard, John and Brady; and a sister, Eva.  He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church, Ravenswood, a member of VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood, a 50-year member of Ashton Lodge 12 AF & AM, a former member of Ravenswood City Council, served on the Jackson County Solid Waste Authority and was a former member of the Ravenswood Lions Club.  He enjoyed bowling, having bowled a 300, a perfect game.  He was a retired foreman from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation, Ravenswood, with 31 years of service.  He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Japan.      Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Harpold Johnson of Ripley; children, Zella Johnson of Ravenswood, Stan Johnson of Ripley, Terry Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., Shirl Baggett of Atlanta, Ga., Mike Poling of Cleveland, Ohio, Jennifer Natalina of Ripley, Steve Poling of Ripley and Randy Poling of Crystal River, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at First Baptist Church, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Gene Waybright officiating.  Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery with Masonic rites provided by Ashton Lodge 12, Ravenswood, and graveside military rites provided by VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood.  Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Frriday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, and one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.  Envelopes will be provided by the funeral home.
