Information: ILLNESS FATAL TO JOHNSON - Dallas Johnson, 21 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnson, of Kenna, died at the home there about four o'clock last Friday afternoon after an illness of about forty-eight hours from spinal meningitis. His illness developed rapidly and physicians entertained no hope for his recovery from the beginning. The funeral services were held at the Grasslick Baptist church at Kenna Sunday afternoon with Rev. Vairl Winter in charge and burial was in the Simmons plot of the Pleasant Valley cemetery. Dallas Weston Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnson, was born August 4, 1914 and died April 10, 1936, aged 21 years, 6 months and 6 days. He was graduated from the Ripley high school in the class of 1935 and since that time had been at home with his parents. He is survived by the parents and one brother, Denver Ray Johnson and two sisters, Mrs. Mable Justine Winter and Zoda Auline Johnson at home and a host of relatives and friends. Dallas was loved by all who knew him and for twenty-one brief summers was all gladness and sunshine in the home. He became suddenly ill on Wednesday and two physicians called in the case fought desperately to stave off death but to no avail. An operation was performed as a last resort in the fight to save his life but was not successful.
