Information: Okey Harrison Jeffries, 79, of Gay Rt. 2, died Wednesday in the Charleston Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was born Nov. 8, 1893, at Gay, son of the late Francis M. and Elizabeth Montgomery Jeffries and was a retried schoolteacher, teaching in Jackson, Wirt and Kanawha counties.  He had also been a farmer and a veteran of World War I with the U. S. Army.  Surviving are three sons, William Doy Jeffries and Edgar Alan Jeffries, both of California and Francis Merlin Jeffries of Fairplain; five daughters, Mrs. Verda Skinner of Nitro, Mrs. Freda Pfalzgraf of Parkersburg, Mrs. Velma Avey of California, Mrs. Delpha Wilson of Arnett and Mrs. Gatha Rhodes of Fairplain; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Golda Stalnaker Jeffries in 1940.  Funeral services were held Friday at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. D. C. Guthrie officiating.  Burial was in the Jeffries Cemetery at Gay.
