  <p>Information: Paul Bates, 91, of Ravenswood, Jackson County WV, passed away April 30, 2012, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley WV.  He was born October 15, 1920 in Locust Ridge WV, a son of the late Haven S. and Virginia Mae (Anderson) Bates.  In addition to his parents, a brother, Oscar Bates, and two sisters, Pauline Lucinda Casto and Nellie Wheaton, also preceded him in death.  He was a farmer and a Protestant.  Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and his caregiver for many years, Marjorie Flanigan, and her extended family and friends.  They would like to extend a special ""thank you"" to staff at Eldercare of Ripley, and Jackson General Hospital.  Service will be 11 am Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood WV, with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating.  Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.  Visitation will be from one hour prior to time of service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to castofh@gmail.com.</p>
