Information: MRS. COLE'S BROTHER DIES- Knocked down by an automobile early last Monday morning, R. L. Hutchinson, 75 years old, brother of Mrs. D. E. Cole of Ravenswood, was fatally injured and died Thanksgiving day at Memorial hospital after being unconscious for more than three days. Mr. Hutchinson, a son of Nancy Seaman and Seldon Hutchinson, was born on a farm near Leroy, Jackson county, on March 15, 1867, and spent his early life in Jackson county. He attended Fairmont Normal school and was graduated from the law college at West Virginia university. According to eye-witnesses to the fatal accident, Mr. Hutchinson alighted from a bus on Fourth avenue in Huntington and started to walk across the thoroughfare. Seeing a car coming down the street he stepped back and walked in front of another machine which knocked him down. He suffered a brain concussion and was conscious only until noon Monday. The deceased practiced law in Huntington for 15 years, then went into the lumber business. Until 20 years ago he had valuable lumber holdings in California. At the time of his death he was active in the operation of the Hutchinson Lumber company and also had a number of other business connections in Cabell county. Mr. Hutchinson, an active church worker, taught a Sunday school class in the Baptist church in Huntington for 50 years, having recently retired from such duties. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Fifth Avenue Baptist church, Huntington, with burial in the Huntington cemetery. Mrs. Cole, accompanied by Walter J. Purdy, went to Huntington last Wednesday. She remained there until after the funeral. Mr. Cole, Mrs. Purdy, and H. E. Hutchinson, all of Ravenswood, also attended the services. His wife, Minnie Zoyer Hutchinson, to whom he was married 48 years ago, survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. C. G. Stripe of Houghton, Mich., and Mrs. Helen Dickerson of Tuscon, Ariz., one brother, O. S. Hutchinson of Tuscon, and a sister, Mrs. Cole.
