Information: Alberta Hutchinson Is Claimed By Death A prominent Jackson county teacher and community Leader died December 26 at a Beckley hospital.  She was Lois Alberta Hutchinson, 73, and the wife of former Assessor Russel D. Hutchinson of Rt. 2, Ripley.  She was born March 12, 1893, at Given, W.Va., the daughter of D. E. and Elizabeth Corbin Kessel.  She was a graduate of Marshall University.  She had undergone surgery several days previously and was thought to be on the road to recovery and was brought home.  On Saturday, December 24 she became much worse and on Christmas day was taken back to the hospital where she died Monday morning.  Mrs. Hutchinson had taught for 35 years in Jackson county prior to her retirement in 1955.  She was a charter member of the Parchment Valley Farm Women's Club, a past president of the Home Demonstration Council of Jackson County, a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.  Surviving are her husband, Russel D.; a sister, Mrs. Lora Dunn of Meadville, Pa.; two brothers, D. Wade and James Kessel, both of Ripley. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
