Information: Mrs. Eleanor Scott Hutchinson, 88, of Sandyville, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after a long illness.  She was born in Bristoria, Pa., the daughter of Albert and Edith Scott.  She was educated at WVU where she earned AB and MA degrees, with special graduate work at Ohio University and Marshall University.  At WVU, she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, Motor Board, the debating team for two years and the Drama Club.  She married Hickory Clay Hutchinson in 1921 and they moved to Jackson County to live at the Meadowdale Farm near Sandyville.  She was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church.  After substituting at a rural school near her home, she taught four years at Gilmore High School, and then taught at Ravenswood High School for 31 years, where she taught English and speech.  During her last 13 years at the high school, she served as guidance counselor.  In 1974, she received an honorary diploma from Ravenswood High School.  She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary and the Retired Teachers' Association.  She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Edith Ann.  She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Bernice S. Winfree of Parkersburg; brother, Dr. Albert Scott of Cape Cod, Mass., and three grandchildren. Services at Meadowdale Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meadowdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
