  <p>Information: Verner Pearl Hurd, 81, of Ravenswood, died June 5, 1988, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after an extended illness.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late James T. and Nancy Thorn Hurd.  He was a member of the North United Methodist Church at Ravenswood and was retired from the John Mansville Corp. after 17 years of service.  He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Etta Hinzman Hurd; two daughters, Elsie Lanham of Romance and Mary Ott of Sandyville; one son, Pearl Hurd of Sandyville; two sisters, Velma Full of Vienna and Maggie Carney of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Hurd; four brothers and two sisters.  Services were held Tuesday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood.  Burial was in the Drift Run Cemetery.</p>
