Information: A former Ravenswood man was found dead Aug. 6 in his car where he had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head several hours earlier. Dead is Charles E. Hupp, 46, of Chillicothe, owner of Hupp State Farm Insurance Agency. A .32 calibre revolver that he reportedly had borrowed from a friend several weeks ago was laying in the automobile, which was parked behind his residence. Born in Ravenswood, a son of Ralph E. Hupp of Elizabeth and the late Edra Barber Hupp, he had been an insurance agent in Chillicothe for the past 13 years. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Westside Church of the Nazarene, VFW, Clillicothe Chamber of Commerce, and National Life Underwriters Assoc. He was a part-time instructor at Ohio University and was past chapter chairman for the March of Dimes. Other survivors include, his wife, Doris Victor Hupp; four sons, Thomas Howard with the U. S. Navy in Norfolk, Va., Ralph Dwight with the U. S. Air Force in Rantoul, Ill., Joseph Clyde and Charles William, both of Chillicothe; one step-son, John Kenneth Victor of Chillicothe; and two step-daughters, Sharon Kay and Sue Ellen Victor, both of Chillicothe. Funeral services were held Friday at Chillicothe. Graveside rites were conducted Friday at Ravenswood Cemetery, with the Rev. Dixon Lang officiating.
