  <p>Information: SPARTANBURG, SC. - Howard DeVaughn Hughes, 57, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Ravenswood, departed this life February 9, 2002, at his home following an extended illness. He was born October 10, 1944, in Ravenswood, a son of the late Phillip Sheridan and Edith (Coe) Hughes.  He was a retired truck driver with 22 years of service for Criss Concrete, Ravenswood, WV, and a maintenance supervisor with 12 years of service for Metro Mont Material in Spartanburg.  He was a member of the Flatwoods United Methodist Church near Ravenswood and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Sandra Sue (Simmons) Hughes; daughter, Denise Marie Wentz of Chesenee, SC; sister, Aloise Bosworth of Ripley; grandson, Nathaniel Hughes.  A sister, Gwendolyn Robinson preceded him in death.  Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Flatwoods United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Phillip Scarberry officiating.  Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV.     </p>
