  <p>Information: Mrs. Alice Pearl Merrill Hughes, 54, of Spencer, died at home after a brief illness.  She was the mother of Phillip Edward Harris of Ravenswood.  She was a Baptist.  She is also survived by her husband, Albert Hughes; daughters, Betty Lou Patterson of Reedy, Mary Alice Cottrell of Clover, Sherrill Ann Harris, Edna Mae Harris and Debbie Marie Dixon, all of Spencer; additional sons, Harry Lee Harris and Darren Michael Harris, both of Spencer; sisters, Garnet Merrill Roberts and Sandra Merrill, both of Spencer; brothers, Bill Merrill of Haysville, N.C., Roy Merrill of Northfield, O., Robert Merrill of Cambridge, O.: and 10 grandchildren.  Burial was in Hodam Cemetery near Spencer.</p>
