Information: Floyd Lyle Hudson, 81, of Turkey Fork Road, Sandyville, passed away at home Wednesday, May 29, 2013 following an extended illness. Floyd was born in Sandyville on March 24, 1932, son of the late Hershel and Roma Full Hudson. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict, an active supporter of the Medina Community Church, and retired from Century Aluminum in 1989 with over 30 years of continuous service. Floyd had a lifelong passion for trading cattle, an activity second only to his church and family. It also earned him the moniker ""Pinhooker"". Surviving: wife, Virgie Marie Hudson; children, Sandy Fisher of Ripley, Charlotte Batten (Rick) of Sandyville, and Michael Hudson (Robin) of Sandyville; grandchildren, Amanda and Billy Marshal of Mineral Wells, Monica Thomas of Parkersburg, Kelsey and Bill Clough of Charleston, Emily Batten of Sandyville, Brandy and Jonathan Caltrider of Sandyville, Benjamin Hudson of Sandyville, Brandon Hudson of Sandyville, Bryce and Jessie Hudson of Parkersburg; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Kerwyn, Kendyll, Kayden and Karsyn Marshall, Carly and Lilly Smith and Will Clough. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a son, Rock Hudson; a granddaughter, Jessica Batten; and a brother, Norman J. Hudson. A celebration of the life of Floyd Hudson will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Bud McVey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends were able to call at the funeral home yesterday (Friday) evening from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Floyd's honor be made to the Medina Community Church.
