  <p>Information: Clark L. Howes, 86, of Parkersburg, died Sunday evening, Sept. 18, 1988, in Parkview Healthcare Center.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late C. B. and Celina A. Haynes Howes.  He retired from the Wood County Board of Education following 25 years&#39; service and had formerly been employed by Chancellor Hotel and the State Road Commission.  He attended Stout Memorial United Methodist Church.  He is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann Black of North Hills; four grandchildren, David of Bloomingdale, Ohio, Kathy of Reston, Va., Diana, at home and Mary Ellen of Newport News, Va.; and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Edyth M. Howes in 1988; one son, Charles Howes; two sisters and three brothers.  Services will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Vaughan Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold W. Custer officiating.  Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, New Era, W. Va.</p>
