  <p>Information: Ivan E. Howell, 62, of Charleston, died May 20, 1989, at home after a long illness.  He was an 11-year resident of Charleston, formerly of San Francisco.  He was a retired cook for Mannings Restaurant in San Francisco and was a member of the Cooks and Bartenders union.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  Surviving: sisters, Ruby ""Boots"" Slack of Chelyan and Wilma Jarrell of Ravenswood; brothers, Darwin Douberley of Charleston, William A. Howell of Augusta, Ga., Howard D. Howell of Chesapeake, Clarence ""Moon"" Howell of Ohley and Jack Howell of Chelyan.  Service was held Tuesday at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Isenberg officiating.  Burial was in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.</p>
