Information: RIPLEY - Lowell F. Hood, 67, of Ripley, departed this life, July 17, 2002, in Jackson General Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born in Ripley, a son of the late Clair and Louise (Sayre) Hood. He was a former employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways, a truck driver, a musician with the Highway Bluegrass Boys Band, and he was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Orpha Jane (Lyons) Hood; sons, Terry Hood and Clayton Hood, both of Ripley; daughters, Venitta Shields of Hickory, NC, Cynthia Dagliere of LA, and Tina Durham of Ripley; stepdaughters, Lynn Good of Orrville, OH and Dee Ann Good of Millersburg, OH; grandchildren, Myka Harrison, Field Harrison, Ric Shields, Carry Hood and Mary Hood. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Gale Hood; brother, Eugene Hood; and sisters, Mary Waybright and Doris Waybright. Services were held Friday, July 19, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Mike Shamblin officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Ripley.
