Information: Edwin Clare Hood, 69, Ripley, died in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an illness of two years. He was born in Ripley, son of the late James and Ida Hood, and was a miller by occupation. He belonged to the Ripley Methodist Church. Mr. Hood had the first electric power plant in Ripley. It was sold later to the late Ray Shinn and Marian Pfost who in turn sold to Applachian. Surviving are two sons, Eugene Hood, Richwood, O., and Lowell Hood of Ripley; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Waybright, Ripley, and Mrs. Mary Waybright of Charleston; one brother, Clyde Hood of Canajoharie, N.Y.; and five sisters, Mrs. Irene Bitting, and Mrs. Isabelle Crites, both of Ripley, Mrs. Marian Tilley, New Ark, Del., Mrs Helen Rhodes, Cottageville, and Mrs. Virginia Casto of Charleston. There are 14 grandchildren surviving. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
