  <p>Information: George Dewey Holmes, 84, of Ravenswood, died at home after a long illness.  He was a member of the Second Avenue Baptist Church of Ravenswood and life deacon of the church.  He was a former member and teacher at Wesley Methodist Church, Sissonville Road.  Surviving; wife, Belva Lilly Holmes; brothers, Hansford of Charleston, Howard and Ralston, both of Ravenswood; sisters, Elizabeth Triganx, Beulah Walker and Edith Lilly, all of Charleston, Lucy Ferrano of Canton, Ohio, Charlotte Nelson of Detroit, Mich.; stepdaughters, Shelva Lipscomb of Coolville, Ohio, Ruby Haynes, Vivian Newhouse, Charleene Carr, all of Charleston, Mrs. George Lilly of Mississippi and Mrs. Dorothy Wilson of California.  Burial was in Fisher Cemetery, Sissonville.</p>
