  <p>Information: Clarence Lee Holder, 90, of Cottageville WV, departed this life on September 7, 2002, in the Ravenswood Center following an extended illness.  He was born September 2, 1912, in Elk Ridge WV, a son of the late Robert and Johnny Belle Craig Holder. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Steelworkers Union, and attended the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church.  Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Hester Margarett Backus Holder; sons, James Edward Holder of Cocoa FL, Gerald Ray Holder of Spencer, and Roger Lee Holder of Cottageville; daughters, Betty Jo Turner of Waldorf MD, Judy Ann Smith of Edgewater MD, and Othella Hilton of Cottageville; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by a son, John William Holder; brothers, Jesse and Walter Holder; and sister, Edna Lowe.  Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Price officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church.  Assistance and information provided by Casto Funeral Home, Evans WV.</p>
