Information: Mendy Dawn Hodges, 27, of Fairplain, beloved wife of Brandon Lee Hodges, and beloved daughter of James ""Shorty"" and Linda Easter of Ripley, died September 4, 2002 at CAMC General Division followimg a brief illness. She was a 1993 graduate of Ripley High School and was employed by Pomeroy Computer Resources of Dunbar. She and Brandon had been married two months. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David Todd and Angie Easter; two nephews, Tyler and Joshua Easter and niece, Alissa Edwards, all of Ripley; grandmother, Helen Ramsey of Winfield, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and James Hodges of Kenna; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Hodges of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold ""Doc"" and Garnet Easter of Ripley. She is sadly mourned by Chick and Gunner, her cats, and many friends. A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at the Ripley Tabernacle Church in Ripley with Pastor Deron Smith officiating. Burial took place at the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley WV. In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation in her name to the Jackson County Animal Shelter or the Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis. She was an organ donor, showing the same generosity in death that she did in life.
