Information: Funeral services were held Monday at the Fairplain Church with the Rev. Earl Gumm officiating for Harry G. Barney, 80, who died Friday night at his home in Fairplain following a long illness.  He was born in Pennsylvania on May 26, 1884, the son of Wilson B. and Sarah E. Dailey Barney.  He was married Sept. 12, 1924 to Miss Gail Gandee who survives.  He was a retired miner.  Survivors include three sons, Sgt. Billy F. Barney with the U.S. Marines on Okinawa and John and Paul Barney, both of Fairplain; six daughters, Mrs. Josephine Dorsey, Rand, Mrs. Christine Davis, Summersville, Mrs. Patsy Sharp, Staats Mills, Mrs. Beverly Anderson, Flatwoods, Mrs. Freda Casto, Given and Mrs. Virginia Hill, Moundsville; one sister, Mrs. Angus Kirby, Mt. Marion, Pa.; 30 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.  Burial was in the Fairplain Cemetery.
