Information: Okey J. Hockenberry, 72 year old Ripley resident, died suddenly and without warning as the result of a heart attack.  He had been associated with the Big R Market here for the past three years after selling out his own food store which he had operated here for many years.  He became ill while working at the market and was sent home and a physician was called.  Dr. C. Royall Kessel rushed to the home, but he was dead within a few minutes after the fellow employee at the market got him home.  He was associated with food markets and in operating his own food store here for about fifty years.  His wife, Ruth Prickett Hockenberry died last year.  He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.  He was a veteran of World War I, and widely known citizen of the town and county.  Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include two children, John W. Hockenberry of Lorain, Ohio, and Mrs. Walter Booker of Ripley and six grandchildren.
