  <p>Information: Josephine Ellen Hite, 61, of Ripley, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 1989, at her residence after a short illness.  She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of Vesta May Crane and the late Foster Gandee.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairplain Union Church.  She is survived by one son, Richard Hite of Fairplain; one daughter, Nancy Payne of Evans; seven brothers, Ronnie Gandee, Carl Gandee, and Keith Gandee, all of Ripley, Bill Gandee of Evans and Raymond Gandee of Ravenswood, George Gandee of Florida and Jack Gandee of Charleston; four sisters, Dorothy Utt of Evans, Ruby Tolley of Ripley, Edna Bennett of Ravenswood and Ruth Dowdy of Lancaster, Ohio; four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hite.  Service was Monday at Fairplain Union Church with the Rev. Carl Chambers and the Rev. Larry Thomas officiating.  Burial was in Casto Cemetery, Fairplain.  Parsons Funeral Home was in charge.</p>
