Information: STATTS MILL - Delmer R. Hite, age 87. of Statts Mill, Jackson County, WV., died Monday, May 18, 1998, following an extended illness in Ripley, WV. He was born March 24, 1920, son of the late William S. and Louisa J. Fisher Hite. He is retired from the U.S. Military as a Master Sergent in the U.S. Air Force serving 23 years (1942-1965). He served as a radio operator on C-46 Aircraft in the CBI Theater, making 112 round trips over ""The Hump"" and being awarded the DFC and Air Medal with OLC. He was a member of the Siniaville United Methodist Church, Jackson County Historical Society, and Grandson of American Revolution, and a Veteran of World War II, U.S. Air Force. He is survived by: brother, Albert Hite, Ripley; sister, Vada Marie Harris of Kentuck; several nieces and nephews. Prededed in death by brother, Ali Hite; sisters, Della Mae Rhodes, Lona Rhodes and Luella Harris. Services will be Thursday, May 21, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at the Siniaville United Methodist Church with Rev. William Holly officiating. Burial will be in the Siniaville Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 6669. Friends may call at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, Wednesday, May 20, 1998, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one prior to the funeral services at the church.
