Information: C, A, HILL DIES, FORMER POSTMASTER & COUNTY OFFICIAL - C. A. Hill, 82, of Evans, died Saturday in Jackson General Hospital after a long illness. He was born at Rockcastle, son of the late Nicholas H. Hill and Mary Frances Barr Hill. He had served as postmaster at Evans seven years, county clerk six years, circuit clerk ten years, deputy sheriff four years, deputy tax commissioner four years and was a real estate broker at the time of his death. He was a member of the Long Hollow Baptist Church, had taught Sunday School at the Evans United Methodist Church for seven years where he also had been Sunday School superintendent, and was president of the Evans Gas Co. for 22 years. He was a member of the AF & AM Lodge No. 16 at Ripley. Survivors include his wife, Elva Morrison Hill; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Williams of Wooster, Ohio and three sons, Donnie of Parkersburg, Charles of Evans and Arthur of Eleanor; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating. Burial was in Otterbein Cemetery.
