Information: Arthur Hoyt Hill, 74, of Mount Alto, passed away April 13, 2002, at the James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Evans, a son of the late Charles A. and Elva D. Morrison Hill. He retired from American Electric Power in 1992 with 41 years of service as the plant manager for the Big Sandy Power Plant in Louisa, Ky. He was a member of the Ripley Lodge No 16 AF & AM, Scottish Rite El Hasa Shrine, Ashland KY, Royal Order of Jesters Court 172, Hillbilly Clan 1 in Ashland. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Point Pleasant and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and attended the Evans United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margaret Shinn Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Rosemary Hill of Cottageville and Nick and Sherry Hill of Mount Alto; grandaughters and grandsons-in-law, Stacie and Jimmy Pinkerton, Sara and Randy Casto, Stephanie Hill, Alison Hill; grandson, Jared Hill; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hill, Ryne Hill, Cory Hill, Holly Casto, and Zane Pinkerton; sister, Kathleen Hill of Scott Depot. A sister, Marie Harness and a brother, Donnie C. Hill also preceded him in death. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Danny Cummings officiating Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, with Masonic graveside rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the American Cancer Society c/o 1724 Miller Dr. Ravenswood WV 26164.
