Information: Benjamin Orville Higginbotham, 76, of Clendenin, formerly of Charleston, died Saturday in Memorial Division, Charleston Area Medical Center, after a short illness. He was a Baptist and a retired barber with 52 years of service in the Charleston and Clendenin areas. Surviving: wife, Gladys Allen Higginbotham; daughters, Mrs. Juanita McLaren of St. Albans, Mrs. Phyllis Stevens of California; stepdaughters, Mrs. Tommy B. Humphreys of Clendenin, Mrs. Clyde Ramsey of Charleston; sons, Edwin and Robert of Lakewood, Calif., Russell of Norwalk, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Lola Fields, Mrs. Beulah Skeens and Mrs. Zelma Boggess of Sissonville, Mrs. Lillian Fields and Mrs. Dovie Fugat of Charleston, Mrs. Ruby Roberts of Hurricane; brothers, Webb of Huntington, David of Buffalo, Okel of Sissonville, Lud of Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Service was held Tuesday in Myers Funeral Home, Elkview, with the Rev. Warren Statts officiating. Burial was in Emma Chapel Cemetery, near Liberty.
