Information: Daniel F. Hemetek, 35, of Bluefield, formerly of Ravenswood, died peacefully Thursday evening, November 7, 2002, at his residence with his loving and devoted family surrounding him.  He was born June 18, 1967, at Gallipolis OH, the son of Franklin Delano and Helen Frances East Hemetek of Ravenswood.  He was a 1985 graduate of Ravenswood High School and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Liberty University in 1991.  He entered the West Virginia State Police Academy in 1992 and graduated in February of 1993.  He had also received an Associate in Applied Science degree from Marshall University.  He was stationed with the Beckley Detachment until 1994, when he was transferred to the Princeton Detachment.  He had served a short period of time on the West Virginia Turnpike and then was promoted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Beckley Division and later to the Bluefield Division of the BCI for the Drug Unit Task Force.  On October 24, he was presented the U. S. Department of Justice Award for Public Service in recognition of meritorious service and acts that have materially contributed to the attainment of the highest standards of cooperative law enforcement and justice in the United States of America by U. S. Attorney, Kasey Warner.      He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, and was a member of the young adult Sunday School class.  He also worked with the youth of the church and was a former deacon.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved the great outdoors, enjoyed golfing and skiing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Karen Robinett Hemetek of the home; a sister, Kathryn Hemetek of Letart, and her son, Richard Lockhart; father and mother in-law, Henry and Joy Robinett of Princeton; sister-in-law and husband, Sharon Hunter and Danny of Princeton, and their children, Jessica and Bryson; and the two dogs that kept everything interesting, Bo and Opie.  A service to celebrate the life of TFC Daniel F. Hemetek was held on Sunday, November 10, at the First Baptist Church in Princeton, with Dr. David Dockery and the Rev. Charles Allen officiating.  Burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.  Graveside services were conducted by the Honor Guard for the West Virginia State Troopers.  Pallbearers were:  Rob Cunningham, Danny Hunter, Kevin Graham, Richard Lockhart, Ed Hensley, John Alexander, Steve Staton, Craig Mueller, Bill Marshall and Scott Van Meter.  His co-workers with the WV Department of Safety from all detachments served as honorary pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts of love can be made to the Daniel F. Hemetek Trust Fund, First Baptist Church, or the Brain Tumor Center.
