  <p>Information: Gene Hays, 63, of Sandyville, died Wednesday, August 8, in Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, after a long illness.  He was a member of Church of Christ, Ripley, and an Army veteran of World War II.  Surviving: wife, Dorothy Hays; daughters, Lois Raines of Cottageville, Eugenia Diana Durst of Point Pleasant; mother, Mary Hays of Marietta, OH; brother, Howard of Athens, OH; sisters, Doris Fouty of Newport, OH, Phyllis Thomas and Carol Thomas, both of Marietta, Gloria Jobes of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren.  Service was 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, at Church of Christ in Ripley, with Vernon Eldridge officiating.  Burial was in White Pine Cemetery, Staats Mills.  Parsons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.</p>
