Information: William A. Hayes succumbed to tuberculosis at Akron, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 28, 1914, aged 48 years.  The remains, accompanied by C. F. Casto, Mrs. Josephine Hayes, and other friends, were taken to the home of his niece, Mrs. Loyd Powers, near Fairplain, the funeral occuring there on Sunday afternoon, Rev. T. O. Powers officiating.  Interment in the Casto Cemetery.      Deceased was for many years a resident of Ripley, during which time he engaged in the harness and saddle business.  He will be remembered as a quiet, unassuming man of highest character whose ultimate death is a source of much regret to his family and friends.  Mr. Hayes is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Rex, and three sisters, Mrs. W. A. Harrison of this city, Mrs. A. B. Casto of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. G. M. Flasher of Lock Seven.  (McIntyre)
