  <p>Information: Howard Lee Hayes, 38, of Leon, died Aug. 26, 1987, at his home, following a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  He was born in South Charleston, a son of Mildred Taylor Cox of St. Albans, and the late Jesse Franklin Hayes.  He was a Vietnam Marine Corp. veteran, receiving two Purple Hearts and was employed by the Bill Rich Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator.  He is survived by his wife, Marsha Burge Hayes; one daughter, KayLee Ashton Hayes at home; one brother, Franklin Hayes of Charleston.  Services were Saturday at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, with the Rev. James Pinkerton officiating.  Burial was in Concord Church Cemetery, near Henderson.</p>
