Information: Calvin L. Hatcher, one of the most prominent citizens of Washington district, died at his home near Fletcher at 1 o'clock p.m. on Sunday, March 8th. His death was due to pneumonia and followed an illness of short duration. Mr. Hatcher resided in this county for forty-five years and during that time made many friends who will learn of his death with regret and feeling that a good man has gone to his reward. He was an active member of the United Brethren Church and always manifested great interest in the public affairs of his community. He served as Justice of Peace and held other positions of honor and trust. Deceased was 73 years of age. Besides his widow, he is survived by eight children, Messrs. Julius, John C., P. M., R. N., and Squire L. M. Hatcher; Mesdames B. F. Good, J. B. Harris and B. T. Parsons. The funeral services were held at the home at 2 o'clock p.m. Monday, Rev. J. H. Skeen officiating. The remains were interred in the family cemetery. (McIntyre)
